self love.

self love.
noun. love of self. regard for one's own happiness.

[a little reminder]

why is self love important? it is important because, darlings, you cannot be happy without it.
we only have one of this life on earth, right? so why not be happy?

trust me, i know it’s hard. it’s one of those things that is easier said than done.
truly loving yourself while your own doubts, your own judgment, along with society’s, weighs down on your heart and soul… it’s tough.

however, at the end of the day, when you’re on the ground, crying alone, and feeling hopeless—only you can pick yourself up. only you can make yourself go on.

and my god, darlings, please do that. please always go on. always move forward. always say yes to living.

to say yes to living is such a freeing, light, happy feeling.
it is worth it.

you are worth it.
you are lovable.

i know it’s hard, like i said previously. i’ve been there.
i’ve been sexually harassed, i’ve been doubted, i’ve felt worthless.
i have anxiety.
i am fighting depression.

i still feel unlovable some days, but i always make myself choose to say yes to self love.
yes to my flaws. yes to my strengths. yes to my life. yes to my heart. yes to my soul. not because people want me to, but because i have to. i have to love myself to succeed. i have to love myself to be the best and brightest soul i can be.

and you can too.

purely psithurism, my brand that branched off my blog, encourages choosing self-love each and every day.

the brand understands how awful the world can be sometimes, and how awful one can feel, but we want everyone to know that they’re not alone. and most importantly, that one has to love themselves out of the pain—no matter what that pain may be.

which is why, i chose purely psithurism as the name.
psithurism means the sound of the wind through trees.

close your eyes while you listen to that sound (or imagine it).

the wind rustling the leaves. the scent of fresh, untouched air. the tranquility.
breathe in, breathe out. repeat.

open your eyes.

did you feel it? did you feel your calm? did you feel the presence of your soul?

purely psithurism wants to help people find their calm within. we want to help people love themselves out of the pain and into the tranquility and peace of their soul.
that is why, a broke college student who struggles with her own self love, decided to start a brand, and share her story. you can find it here

it’s very vulnerable bearing your soul by posting your life online.
but…if it takes me being vulnerable, sharing my story on the internet, creating t-shirts, etc. to help people understand that they are not alone, and they are worth it…i could save someone. i could save a lot of people. and that’s what i want to do.

if i can just help someone find their psithurism, i will have won something much more valuable than any profits could be.

so that’s why i’m here. that’s why purely psithurism is on instagram, facebook, youtube, blogger, and on the personal website.

it’s to reach out to everyone who needs that extra positivity in their life.

it’s to teach them that it is okay to love yourself, when others will try to say it’s “selfish”.
it’s to teach people to pick themselves off the ground because it will be okay.

everything can be okay with the right light, soil, and water.
let yourself grow.
let your light shine.
let yourself be nourished.
and pour the purest love, thoughts, and vitamins into you.

i promise you, you will blossom and grow if you make sure self love is on your daily to-do list.
and if you need some help, reach out to the brand. it can help you. we can help you.
and you can heal your heart, body, soul, and mind.

that’s what self love is all about—healing yourself enough to let yourself grow.

and we support you.

xoxo,
